Creating photo books online offers us endless possibilities. Photo books have come to replace traditional photo albums for displaying our favorite photos because they are easy to make, convenient and fun. While wedding and baby books will always be popular, there are numerous creative ways to use photo books. Listed here are a few photobook ideas you may not have thought of.

Recipe Book

Most of us can recall special dishes our mother once made. Making a cookbook photo book is a special way of preserving your family's favorite recipes and passing them down to the next generation. You can invite family members to contribute their own special recipes and scan and upload them or type them right on the photo book pages. Put in a few photos of some of the prepared dishes as well as of family members, include some anecdotes and you will have a wonderful memorial. Why not get a copy of every member of the family. Additionally, recipe books are excellent fund raisers. Get recipes from your club members then make and sell a cook book as a fund-raiser.

Portfolio Photobook

A polished looking portfolio is essential when presenting to potential clients. A photo book portfolio is an attractive way to present your projects. Select the book size and layout you need then add photos of your work and any necessary written content. Once your book is printed you will have an elegant and simple showcase of your work for potential customers. This would be ideal for everyone from web or print graphic designers, architects, and interior designers to wedding photographers and florists.

Sports Team Year Book

A highlights book of your child's baseball games or gymnastics meets would be a winner. This would be a great thank-you gift to the coach at the end of the season, and teammates would enjoy a copy too. Once your book is designed online, you can share it with the team by sending a link to it online.

Family Tree Book

Old photos, whether black & white or color, tend to change color and fade over time. You can give them new life by scanning them to digital and making a photo book. Consult with older relatives if you are not sure who some of the people are in the photos then compose a short family history to accompany the pics. Perhaps you could sketch out your family tree and scan it as a picture to put in your photobook.

Remember a Life

This could take several forms. In celebration of a birthday milestone you could create a book filled with highlights of their life. As an illustration, for a 65th birthday photo book you could include pictures from their childhood and school events, senior promo and college graduation, other life events like marriage, birth of children, parties, vacation time, and other important events in their life. Accompany the photos with snippets about their life and you will end up with a special present they will always appreciate. You could also apply this concept to commemorate the life of a person who has passed.

Yearbook for School or Social Club

Try making a personalized memory book of your child's classroom days or for a social group. To build a school memory book, ask your fellow parents for some pictures to add to yours: class pictures, field trips, school play, etc. You can add text and embellishments and create a great memento for classmates and a favorite teacher.

A number of online photo book services let you post your creation on Facebook or your blog or you can send a web link to family and friends so they can look at it on line.
